CALL FOR ARTISTS: Eraserhood Forever

All of us here at PhilaMOCA are huge David Lynch fans and are thus honored to be a fixture of the Eraserhood, a neighborhood on the rise that will soon be known as “Callowhill”.  So join us as we preserve our corner of Center City in all of its frightening/strange/surreal glory…

About the Event:  PhilaMOCA is hosting a David Lynch-themed art show in honor of an Eraserhead mural that is currently being added to the building’s exterior.  We are seeking Lynch-themed/inspired submissions from artists of all disciplines.

The opening reception will be held on Friday, July 13 from 6:00 – 11:30 PM and will feature performers, musicians, amusements, and, of course, art in the style of the cinema of David Lynch.  The show will be up through Tuesday, July 24; there will be selected hours for open gallery visits as well as viewings by appointment.

Submissions: All mediums are welcome.  Please send digital files or photos of submissions to curator Chip Schwartz at chip@philamoca.org.  Links are preferred for six or more entries.

There will be a $25 participation fee per selected piece of artwork; PhilaMOCA will handle all art sales with a 15% commission per sale.

Deadline for submissions is June 29, 2012.

Accepted Art Delivery:  Drop-offs of accepted art can be made at PhilaMOCA (531 N. 12th Street) on July 10 and July 11 from noon-6pm and by appointment.  Work must be hang-ready and prepared for installation.
