On Friday, June 15, PhilaMOCA will host The Mausoleum Art Show of Horrors curated by Jenny Dreadful as a lead in to the following day’s Mausoleum Horror Convention.  But the evening isn’t completely dedicated to masterpieces of the macabre as we’ll also be hosting the North American Tour of Terror, a program of current short horror films curated by local filmmaker Matt Garrett (Beating Hearts), followed by local horror maestro Isaac Williams’ feature documentary MAYBE WE CAN GO TO HOLLYWOOD starring the late Philly punk legend Mikey Wild.

MAYBE WE CAN GO TO HOLLYWOOD:
In the tradition of AMERICAN MOVIE, MAYBE WE CAN GO TO HOLLYWOOD tells the tale of Philly punk legend Mikey Wild & local filmmaker Isaac Williams as they set out to pay cinematic tribute to classic horror films. Fighting illness & armed with a budget of $178, these two mavericks do their damnedest to make it “scary”.

1. Martian Precursor, Dir: Brian Lonano & Kevin Lonano, USA, 1 minute
!ROBOT HAND! creates short films, music videos, and content for Television and Film Festival trailers. They have received several awards including two Telly Awards and were recognized by the Chicago International Film Festival’s Annual Hugo Television Awards with a Silver Plaque and a Certificate of Merit.

2. T is for Toothpick, Dir: Maude Michaud, Canada, 4 minutes
In addition to her short film work, Ms. Michaud is also an active member of the Women in Horror movement, creating and directing the ongoing documentary web series Bloody Breasts: An Exploration of Women, Feminism, and Horror Films. She is currently preparing to shoot her first feature film.

3. Criticized, Dir: Richard Gale, USA, 18 minutes
After directing the well regarded features Pressure and The Proposal, Gale made a splash at festivals throughout the world with his award-winning shorts Criticized and The Horribly Slow Murderer With The Extremely Inefficient Weapon, the latter of which went on to become a You Tube sensation spawning the equally popular sequel Spoon Wars.

4. Sinkhole, Dir: Greg Hanson, USA, 2 minutes (Director will be in attendance)
Award-winning DIY filmmaker Greg Hanson has made waves on the underground festival circuit with such shorts as Thy Kill Be Done and Good Taste.

5. Doll Parts, Dir: Karen Lam, Canada, 9 minutes
Karen Lam is best known as the award-winning writer/director of the indie feature Stained (starring Tinsel Korey of Twilight fame) as well as the short films The Cabinet, Doll Parts, and The Stolen.

6. God’s Little Girl, Dir: Mitch Davis, Canada, 17 minutes
Mitch Davis is known the world over as the Co-Festival Director/Director Of Intl. Programming for Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival.  He also produced Karim Hussain’s notorious feature debut, Subconscious Cruelty and wrote/directed the shocking short Divided Into Zero.

7. A Safe Distance Away, Dir: Alexander Yan, USA, 3 minutes

This deeply unsettling short won the award For Most Effectively Offensive at the 2011 Boston Underground Film Festival.
